FlexiUnit POS: Dynamic Pricing & Barcodes

This module enhances Odoo POS to support multiple Units of Measure (UoM) per product with custom prices and dedicated barcodes. It enables businesses to sell products in different units (e.g., bottles, packs, or kilograms) directly from the POS, with automatic price adjustments and accurate inventory tracking.

Scenarios

Scenario 1: Retail Store Selling Beverages

Product: Soda (Base UoM: "Bottle", Price: $2).
Multi-UoM Setup:
• "Pack of 6" (Barcode: 123456, Price: $10).
• "Case of 24" (Barcode: 789012, Price: $36).

Workflow:
• Cashier scans 123456 → POS adds 1 pack (6 bottles) at $10.
• Customer requests 2 loose bottles → Cashier selects "Bottle" from UoM button, adds 2 units at $2 each.

Scenario 2: Bulk Food Sales

Product: Rice (Base UoM: "Kg", Price: $5/kg).
Multi-UoM Setup:
• "500g Bag" (Barcode: RICE500G, Price: $2.50).
• "5kg Bag" (Barcode: RICE5KG, Price: $22).

Workflow:
• Scanning RICE5KG adds a 5kg bag to the order. Inventory deducts 5kg.



Multi-UoM Product Configuration
  • Define alternative UoMs (e.g., "Pack," "Kg") with custom prices and barcodes.
  • Restrict UoMs to the same category as the base product UoM.
Barcode-Driven UoM Selection
  • Scan UoM-specific barcodes to auto-select the unit and apply its price.
POS Interface Integration
  • UoM Selection Button: Manually choose UoMs during checkout.
  • Dynamic price updates based on selected UoM.
  • Prevent merging order lines with different UoMs.
