Product Specific Promotion Discounts
In Odoo 15, there's a problem with the standard promotions feature: you can't apply discounts to just some of the products in an order. This means if you want to give a discount on only a couple of items in a customer's order, you're out of luck. This makes it hard to target promotions to specific products, which can be really useful for boosting sales.
Customized Solution
I made a custom solution for this. Instead of one big promotion for the whole order, I created a separate promotion for each product. For example, if you have two products, "Mug" and "Glass," you can set different discounts for each. So, maybe 5% off for mugs and 10% off for glasses.
Configuration
- Go to the Sales > Settings Menu and check Coupons & Promotions Checkbox
- Go to the Sales > Products > Promotion Programs Menu
- Discount Apply On: For this you can select On Order or On Specific Products
- Go to Sales Menu and Create New Sale Order
- Now, in the sale order, I added a simple checkbox next to each product line called "Apply Promotion". If you want to give a discount on a specific product, just tick the box next to it. So, if someone orders four things but you only want to give a discount on two, you just tick the box for those two items. It's easy and lets you control discounts on specific products.
