1. Introduction

The Subscription Upsell module enables your sales team to perform upsell actions on customer subscriptions and contracts within Odoo 17. Whether updating quantities, adding new subscription lines, or generating guided upsell quotations—it enhances flexibility and boosts renewal and upsell potential. This module is designed for the Community Edition.

2. Key Features

  • Update Existing Contract Lines
    Automatically increases quantities if the upsell product matches an existing contract line.

  • Add New Contract Lines
    Generates new subscription or contract lines when upsell products don’t match existing ones.

  • Generate Sales Quotation for Upsell
    Create a quotation from the upsell, and once confirmed, it is applied to update contract lines.

  • Upsell History Tab
    View a detailed upsell history directly on the contract form.

  • Sales Order Linking
    Track the originating sales orders from the upsell process.

4. Compatibility

  • Odoo Version: Compatible with Odoo 17.0 (also supports versions 11–18).

  • Edition: For Community Edition only.

  • Dependencies:

    • Invoicing (account)

    • Discuss/Mail (mail)

    • Sales (sale_management)

    • Also requires Sales Contract / Subscription and Recurring Invoice modules.

5. Installation & Licensing

  1. Install required modules (account, mail, sale_management, sales contract/subscription).

  2. In your Odoo backend: Apps → Update Apps List, search subscription_contract_upsell, install.

  • License: Odoo Proprietary License v1.0 (OPL-1). Use only with a valid purchase. Redistribution or public reuse is prohibited.

This module allows your sales team to do Upsell on Sales Subscription / Sales Contract.


Main Features:

  • Allow the sales team to upsell on Customer Contract / Sales Subscription.
  • Options during upsell are: You can directly update contract lines / create new contract lines or you can create new sales quotations.
  • You can view upsell Contract History on Contract.
  • You can view Sales Order on Contract.
  • Option 1
    • Update existing contract/subscription line while doing upsell if product matches with existing contract/subscription line.
  • Option 2
    • System will create new contract/subscription line if product does not match in existing contract/subscription lines.
  • Option 3
    • Create Sales Quote from upsell and then once sales order confirmation system will append/modify contract/subscription lines.

System will create contract/subscription when you confirm sale order.

When stage of Contract/Subscription Running, Upsell button will be visible.

Optation 1

Update on Existing Contract/Subscription lines

When system will find Contract/Subscription lines match with upsell product it will update its quantity in Contract/Subscription line.

Updated Current Contract/Subscription

When above wizard is processed system updated current Contract/Subscription line quantity 5 to 8.

Optation 2

Create Contract/Subscription line

If system will not find any match product in existing Contract/Subscription line then it will create new Contract/Subscription.

When Create Quotation button is clicked system will create new quotation with selected upsell lines.
